About Joe Strategy
Mike Vann, an accidental business strategist and sometimes entrepreneur, started Joe Strategy because of his belief that the traditional approaches to small business strategic planning were no longer relevant or beneficial. It is his hope that Joe Strategy will become an active, vibrant community that provides sound and pragmatic advice to small businesses, identifies strategic planning best practices and constantly challenges the assumptions defining the status quo.
Mike is a founder and principal of the Vann Group, a family-owned boutique advisory firm that works with companies in transition to unlock the inherent value in their businesses. A graduate of George Mason University, Mike is responsible for driving the day-to-day activities of the firm. He serves as the trusted advisor to several of the firm’s key clients and is actively involved in leading several of the group’s entrepreneurial ventures. His colleagues and clients know Mike for his ability to ask the right questions and bring focus to issues critical to the development and execution of a successful business strategy.
In addition to his responsibilities within the firm and its ventures, Mike is actively involved in a number of charitable and community organizations and has been a featured speaker on business strategy issues.
